Why applying on Workable takes so long

  1. 01

Forms mix standard fields with employer-specific questions and file uploads.

  2. 02

Cover letters are often optional but expected, and writing one per role adds up.

  3. 03

Confirmation emails are the only record you get, scattered across your inbox.

What we automate on Workable

  1. 01

    Find the posting

We spot new Workable roles that match your filters, usually soon after they go live.

  2. 02

    Tailor your résumé

Your résumé is rewritten for that role's wording, without adding experience you don't have.

  3. 03

    Fill every field

Contact details, links, work authorisation, notice period and custom questions, all answered from your profile.

  4. 04

    Submit and record it

We submit the Workable form and save a receipt showing every field. If it fails, it doesn't count.

Autofill vs auto-apply

Autofill

  • You find each posting yourself
  • Fills standard fields, if it recognises them
  • Leaves custom questions to you
  • You still press submit, one form at a time

Applysent auto-apply

  • Finds matching postings for you
  • Tailors your résumé to each role
  • Answers custom questions from your profile
  • Submits, then gives you a receipt

How a Workable application is laid out

Workable is used by a wide mix of small and mid-sized employers across many countries and industries, not only tech. Each company has a careers page at apply.workable.com/company-name, and each job has an application form at an address ending in /j/job-code/apply. Some companies embed the same form on their own website.

The form is usually split into labelled blocks on one page:

The employer decides which blocks appear and which fields are required.
BlockTypical fields
Personal informationFirst and last name, email, phone, address
ProfileEducation and experience entries, which you can add one by one
DetailsSummary, résumé upload, cover letter
QuestionsEmployer questions: text, yes/no, multiple choice, file uploads

Workable offers to import details from your résumé to fill in the form. It's a handy shortcut, but check what it picked up, especially job dates and the email address. Parsed fields are also what the employer searches and filters on, as explained in how ATS screening works.

What candidates usually want to know

Which email should be on my résumé?

Workable reads your résumé and uses the email in it to match you with any record the employer already has. Its own advice to job seekers is to include only the email you want employers to contact you at. Keep the address on your résumé and the address in the form the same.

What if I apply to the same job twice?

Workable treats duplicates by email, per job. If you apply again to the same role with the same email, the new application replaces the earlier one rather than adding a second. Applying to different roles at the same company is treated separately.

Why did I get a "Verify your application" email?

If an employer already had you on file, for example because a recruiter added you earlier, Workable may ask you to confirm the application by email. Open it and follow the link so the application is linked to you.

Is the cover letter optional?

Often it's marked optional, but many small employers do read it. A few specific lines usually do more than a full page. See cover letters on application forms for what to put in that box.

Why won't my application submit?

Workable's help centre suggests trying another browser or network if the submit button errors out. A missing required question further down the page is the other common cause.

What Applysent handles on Workable

Workable is live on Applysent. For each Workable posting inside your filters, it:

  • Tailors your résumé to the role and uploads it.
  • Fills in personal details and, where the employer asks for them, education and experience entries from your profile.
  • Answers the employer's questions using your saved answers, choosing from the options shown.
  • Writes a short cover letter when the form asks for one.
  • Records every field and answer on a receipt you can open later.

You choose the email employers see. With the optional dedicated application address, employer replies land in one place instead of your personal inbox; if you prefer your own email, that works too. Either way, make sure the address on your résumé is the one you want employers to use, because Workable reads it. Applysent never sends email from your own account.

Things it doesn't do

  • It won't apply to roles below your match threshold or outside your filters, however many Workable postings there are.
  • It won't contact the employer or recruiter in your name after the application is sent.
  • It can't promise a response. Failed submissions are refunded to your balance and noted on the receipt.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know a job is on Workable?

The application opens on apply.workable.com, or the embedded form mentions Workable at the bottom.

Does Applysent apply to Workable jobs today?

Yes, Workable is one of the 10 systems that are live now.

Do I need a Workable account to apply?

No. You can apply to Workable employers as a guest; each application is a separate form.

Can I update an application I already sent?

Applying again to the same job with the same email replaces the earlier application, so only do it if you need to correct something important.

Will the employer see my education and experience entries?

Yes, if the employer included those sections. They appear alongside your uploaded résumé.
