Why applying on BambooHR takes so long

  1. 01

Every BambooHR employer has its own careers page, so you type the same name, address and links again each time.

  2. 02

Optional standard questions like desired pay and date available sit next to yes/no questions that can rule you out.

  3. 03

There's no candidate login, so the confirmation email is your only record of what you sent.

What we'll automate on BambooHR

  1. 01

    Find the posting

We spot new BambooHR roles that match your filters, usually soon after they go live.

  2. 02

    Tailor your résumé

Your résumé is rewritten for that role's wording, without adding experience you don't have.

  3. 03

    Fill every field

Contact details, links, work authorisation, notice period and custom questions, all answered from your profile.

  4. 04

    Submit and record it

We submit the BambooHR form and save a receipt showing every field. If it fails, it doesn't count.

Autofill vs auto-apply

Autofill

  • You find each posting yourself
  • Fills standard fields, if it recognises them
  • Leaves custom questions to you
  • You still press submit, one form at a time

Applysent auto-apply

  • Finds matching postings for you
  • Tailors your résumé to each role
  • Answers custom questions from your profile
  • Submits, then gives you a receipt

Who uses BambooHR and how the form looks

BambooHR is an HR system built for small and medium-sized businesses, mostly in the US, and its hiring module is how many of those companies post jobs. You'll often find it behind job links from local businesses, agencies, non-profits and growing start-ups. Job pages usually sit at company.bamboohr.com/careers/job-id, or are embedded in the employer's own website.

There's no account and no multi-step wizard. You scroll one form, fill it in and submit.

The fields you'll typically see

Employers decide which standard questions to switch on and which are required.
GroupFields
ContactFirst and last name, email, phone, street address, city, state or province, postcode, country
DocumentsRésumé, and sometimes a cover letter
Standard questionsDate available, desired pay, website or portfolio, LinkedIn URL, highest education, college or university, references, who referred you
Custom questionsAnything the employer adds: text, dropdowns, yes/no, sometimes with an 'Other' option
EEOVoluntary gender, ethnicity, veteran and disability questions on many US postings

Many BambooHR forms ask for a full street address, even on remote roles. If the field is required and you're relocating, give your current address and mention the move in your cover letter.

Common questions about BambooHR applications

What should I put for desired pay?

If the posting lists a range, a figure inside it is the safest answer. If not, use a number you'd genuinely accept, based on market research for that location. Our guide to salary expectations on application forms covers how to choose one.

Can a yes/no question disqualify me?

Yes. Employers can mark answers to certain questions, such as holding a licence or being able to work in a given country, as knockouts. Answer accurately: a wrong answer that gets you through will come up later anyway.

Do I have to give references at this stage?

Only if the employer has made the field required. If it's optional, many candidates prefer to wait until they're further into the process before sharing referees' details.

How do I know my application was received?

You'll see a "thanks for applying" style message on the page, and many employers also send an email. Small employers may take a while to reply; how to follow up after applying covers when and how to check in.

Before you fill in a BambooHR form

  • Read which standard questions are marked required; the rest can be left blank if you'd rather not answer yet.
  • Have a résumé file ready in a common format, plus a short cover letter if the posting mentions one.
  • Decide on a desired-pay figure before you start, so you don't guess under pressure halfway down the form.
  • Check the posting's location type (remote, hybrid or on-site) against where you can actually work.

Applysent and BambooHR

We'll add BambooHR soon. Applysent does not apply to BambooHR jobs today. Join the waitlist to hear when it's live.

Once it's live, the plan is for BambooHR to follow the same flow as the supported systems: matching roles to your résumé and filters, tailoring the résumé, filling in contact details and standard questions from your profile, answering custom questions with your saved answers and keeping a receipt of each application.

Because BambooHR is so common among small US employers, it matters most if your search is in the United States. In the meantime, Applysent works on Lever, SmartRecruiters, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, Greenhouse, Workday, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, Teamtailor and JazzHR.

What it won't do on any system

  • Answer a knockout question untruthfully to get through.
  • Share references or personal details you haven't added to your profile.
  • Promise a reply from the employer.

Frequently asked questions

Does Applysent support BambooHR yet?

Not yet. BambooHR support is in progress, and you can join the waitlist to be told when it's live.

How do I know a job uses BambooHR?

The job page is on a bamboohr.com address, or the embedded form carries BambooHR branding.

Do I need a BambooHR account to apply?

No. You fill in the employer's form as a guest each time.

Is BambooHR only used in the US?

It's most common with US small businesses, but employers in other countries use it too.

Are the EEO questions required?

No. They're voluntary, and choosing not to answer doesn't stop you submitting.
