Why applying on Lever takes so long

  1. 01

Every posting has its own form, and the custom questions change from company to company.

  2. 02

You re-upload the same résumé and re-type the same links for every role.

  3. 03

Nothing on Lever tracks the applications you've sent across different employers.

What we automate on Lever

  1. 01

    Find the posting

We spot new Lever roles that match your filters, usually soon after they go live.

  2. 02

    Tailor your résumé

Your résumé is rewritten for that role's wording, without adding experience you don't have.

  3. 03

    Fill every field

Contact details, links, work authorisation, notice period and custom questions, all answered from your profile.

  4. 04

    Submit and record it

We submit the Lever form and save a receipt showing every field. If it fails, it doesn't count.

Autofill vs auto-apply

Autofill

  • You find each posting yourself
  • Fills standard fields, if it recognises them
  • Leaves custom questions to you
  • You still press submit, one form at a time

Applysent auto-apply

  • Finds matching postings for you
  • Tailors your résumé to each role
  • Answers custom questions from your profile
  • Submits, then gives you a receipt

How applying on Lever works

Every Lever job has its own page, usually at jobs.lever.co/company-name/job-id, with an "Apply for this job" button that opens the form at the same address plus /apply. Some companies embed Lever listings on their own careers site, but the form underneath is the same.

Unlike systems that split an application across several screens, Lever keeps everything on one page. That is quicker to scan, but it also means a long list of custom questions sits right below the standard fields, and a single missed required field stops the whole submission.

Fields differ by employer; this is the common pattern.
SectionWhat it usually asks
Submit your applicationRésumé/CV upload, full name, email, phone, current location, current company
LinksLinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio, X/Twitter or other URLs
Employer questionsCustom cards with text boxes, dropdowns, checkboxes and yes/no options
Additional informationA free-text box, often used like a short cover letter
Demographic surveyVoluntary, mostly on US roles; varies by employer

Questions candidates ask about Lever

Is there a Lever account I sign in to?

No. Lever has no candidate login. You apply as a guest each time, which is why your details have to be entered again at every company that uses it.

Does Lever read my résumé and fill in the form?

Uploading a résumé can prefill a few basic fields such as name and email, but custom questions are never filled from your résumé. Check prefilled fields before you submit; parsing is not always accurate.

What should go in "Additional information"?

Treat it as a short, specific note about why this role fits you. Three or four sentences that point to relevant work beat a pasted generic letter. Our guide on cover letters on application forms explains when a longer answer is worth it.

Will I get a confirmation email?

Normally yes. Lever sends the candidate an email after they apply, unless the employer has turned that off. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder before assuming the application failed.

What if I apply twice to the same posting?

Lever can recognise repeat applications, and employers see your history with them. Applying twice to the same role rarely helps; tidy up your tracking instead, as covered in how to track job applications.

What Applysent handles on Lever

Lever is one of the systems Applysent supports today. For each Lever role inside your filters and above your match threshold, it:

  • Tailors your résumé to the posting's wording without adding experience you don't have.
  • Fills in the standard fields and links from your profile.
  • Reads each custom card and chooses from the options the employer actually offers, rather than guessing a value.
  • Writes the additional-information note or a short cover letter when the form asks for one.
  • Reuses your right-to-work, sponsorship and notice-period answers from onboarding.
  • Saves a receipt showing every field it filled in and exactly what it wrote.

In review mode you see all of that before anything is sent and can edit any answer. Autopilot is optional and only applies inside your filters. You can switch or pause at any time from how it works.

What it doesn't do on Lever

  • It doesn't contact recruiters or send email from your personal account.
  • It doesn't answer the voluntary demographic survey beyond the choices you set in your profile.
  • It can't make an employer reply. If a submission fails, for example because the posting closed, that application is refunded to your balance and marked on the receipt.

If you're wondering whether this is different from a browser extension that types into the form for you, auto apply vs autofill extensions lays out the trade-offs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know a job uses Lever?

The application page sits on jobs.lever.co, or the embedded form has a small Lever footer.

Does Applysent apply to Lever jobs today?

Yes. Lever is live, alongside SmartRecruiters, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee, Greenhouse, Workday, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, Teamtailor and JazzHR.

Can I check the answers before they're sent?

Yes. In review mode every Lever application waits for your approval, and you can edit the tailored résumé or any answer first.

Does Lever have a character limit on answers?

Some employers set limits on custom text questions. Keep answers short and specific so they fit and get read.

Can I apply to several roles at one company on Lever?

Usually yes, each posting has its own form. The employer sees all of them together, so choose the roles that genuinely match.
