Why applying on Recruitee takes so long

  1. 01

Many European employers use Recruitee, each with its own set of required fields.

  2. 02

Questions about notice period, work authorisation and salary repeat on every form.

  3. 03

There's no single place to see which roles you've already applied to.

What we automate on Recruitee

  1. 01

    Find the posting

We spot new Recruitee roles that match your filters, usually soon after they go live.

  2. 02

    Tailor your résumé

Your résumé is rewritten for that role's wording, without adding experience you don't have.

  3. 03

    Fill every field

Contact details, links, work authorisation, notice period and custom questions, all answered from your profile.

  4. 04

    Submit and record it

We submit the Recruitee form and save a receipt showing every field. If it fails, it doesn't count.

Autofill vs auto-apply

Autofill

  • You find each posting yourself
  • Fills standard fields, if it recognises them
  • Leaves custom questions to you
  • You still press submit, one form at a time

Applysent auto-apply

  • Finds matching postings for you
  • Tailors your résumé to each role
  • Answers custom questions from your profile
  • Submits, then gives you a receipt

What applying on Recruitee involves

Recruitee is a hiring system used mainly by small and mid-sized European employers, with a strong presence in the Netherlands and Germany. Each company gets a career site, usually at company-name.recruitee.com, or on its own domain with Recruitee underneath. Job pages typically end in /o/job-title, with the application form on the same page or one click away.

A typical Recruitee form includes:

  • Full name, email and phone.
  • CV upload, and sometimes a separate cover letter upload or text box.
  • An optional photo, which is still common in some European countries.
  • Employer questions: notice period, salary expectations, languages spoken, work permit status and role-specific prompts.
  • A privacy consent explaining how long the employer keeps your data, often with an option to stay on file for future roles.

Forms tend to be short, but they differ more than you'd expect between employers, because each one chooses its own required fields.

Questions European applicants often ask

Do I have to add a photo?

Only if the employer marks it as required, which is uncommon. Practice varies by country: photos are more usual in Germany and the Netherlands than in the UK or Ireland. If it's optional and you'd rather not, leave it out.

How should I answer notice period questions?

Give your contractual notice period, for example one month or three months, rather than the date you'd like to start. European notice periods are often longer than in the US, and employers plan around them, so an accurate answer saves awkward conversations later.

What about salary expectations?

Many Recruitee forms ask for a figure, sometimes gross per year, sometimes per month. Check which one before you type. Our guide to salary expectations on application forms covers how to pick a number and a format.

Do I need to say whether I have a work permit?

Usually yes. Employers in the EU need to know if you can work there without sponsorship. If you're applying from outside the EU, see how to find jobs that sponsor visas and the Germany page for country-specific context.

Will I hear back?

You'll normally get a confirmation email from the employer once the form is submitted. Some Recruitee employers also send updates when your application moves to a new stage, but that's up to them.

What Applysent does on Recruitee

Recruitee is one of the 10 systems live on Applysent. It's a good fit if you're targeting European employers, because the same handful of questions (notice period, authorisation, languages, salary) come up again and again.

  1. It scores Recruitee roles against your résumé and filters and skips anything below your threshold.
  2. It tailors your CV for the role and uploads it in place of a generic version.
  3. It fills in contact details and answers recurring questions from your profile, including notice period and right to work, which you set once in onboarding.
  4. It writes a brief cover letter when the form asks for one.
  5. It saves a receipt with every field and answer.

What it leaves alone

  • It won't add languages, qualifications or experience that aren't in your profile, even when a form asks for them.
  • When you set a salary floor, it skips roles that pay below it or don't list pay in your currency.
  • In review mode you can check optional extras, such as a photo field or a talent-pool opt-in, before anything is sent.
  • It doesn't email employers or reply on your behalf, and it can't guarantee an interview.

Frequently asked questions

How can I tell a job uses Recruitee?

The career site is often on a recruitee.com address, or the form shows Recruitee branding in the footer.

Is Recruitee live on Applysent?

Yes. You can apply to Recruitee roles today, along with Lever, SmartRecruiters, Ashby, Workable, Greenhouse, Workday, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, Teamtailor and JazzHR.

Can I write my answers in a language other than English?

If the posting is in another language, the employer may expect answers in it. Check the job description and follow its lead.

Does Recruitee keep my data after the role closes?

That depends on the employer's retention settings, which the privacy consent on the form should explain. You can ask the employer to delete your data under GDPR.

Do I need an account to apply on Recruitee?

No. You fill in the form as a guest on each employer's career site.
