Auto-apply to jobs in the UAE

Last updated 4 min read

To auto-apply to jobs in the UAE, your CV and profile should state your nationality, current visa status, location and notice period, because UAE forms ask for all four and employers usually arrange your residence visa. Applysent finds UAE roles inside your filters, tailors your CV to each one and fills in the employer's own form, after your approval or automatically on autopilot.

How hiring in the UAE works

Most people working in the UAE's private sector hold a residence visa sponsored by their employer. The employer obtains the work permit and arranges the residence visa and Emirates ID once you accept an offer. That is why UAE employers care so much about where you are now, what visa you hold, and how quickly you can join.

Some residents hold visas that aren't tied to one employer, such as Golden Visas, and some people work on a family-sponsored visa with a work permit. These candidates can often join faster, which is worth stating clearly. Free zones such as DIFC, ADGM and DMCC have their own authorities and processes.

Official sources: the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) for work permits and labour matters, and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) for residence visas. Dubai residence visas are handled by GDRFA. This page is general information, not legal advice.

What to put on a UAE CV

UAE CVs carry more personal detail than UK or US ones. Including your nationality, current location and visa status is common and useful. A professional photo is common too, though not required. Two pages is a sensible length.

  • Nationality: frequently asked on forms, partly because of Emiratisation and visa processing.
  • Location: say "Dubai, UAE" or "currently in Riyadh, relocating to Dubai". Being in the country is often an advantage.
  • Visa status: for example "UAE residence visa (employment), transferable" or "Golden Visa holder".
  • Driving licence: mention a UAE licence if you hold one, since some roles require it.
  • Languages: Arabic is an advantage for many client-facing roles.

Common UAE form questions and how to answer them

Current visa status

Typical options are employment visa, visit visa, family-sponsored visa, Golden Visa, or not in the UAE. Pick the one that is true today. If you're on a visit visa, some employers will still consider you, but they'll want to know when it expires.

Notice period

Notice periods of one to three months are common in the UAE, and your employment contract sets yours. Give the exact figure, for example "30 days" or "60 days". If you're immediately available, say so; it can count in your favour.

Current and expected salary

UAE salaries are usually quoted monthly in AED, often split into basic salary plus housing, transport and other allowances. Many forms ask for both current and expected salary. Be clear whether your figure is basic or total package, because end-of-service gratuity is calculated on basic salary. There is no personal income tax on salaries, so figures are effectively net. More on this in salary expectations on application forms.

Sponsorship

In the UAE, "will you require visa sponsorship?" usually means "do we need to issue your residence visa?". If you're on your current employer's visa, the answer is usually yes, because the new employer issues a new one. Our guide to work authorisation and sponsorship questions explains how to stay consistent.

Emiratisation and nationality questions

Private-sector companies above a certain size have Emiratisation targets, which require them to employ a set share of UAE nationals. Some roles are therefore reserved or prioritised for Emiratis, and postings may say so. If you're a UAE national, state it clearly. If you're not, skip roles marked for UAE nationals rather than applying anyway.

Which hiring systems UAE employers use

Third-party tracking for the Middle East shows Workable as one of the most widely used systems, alongside Greenhouse, BambooHR and Oracle Recruiting Cloud. Large Gulf employers lean towards Oracle and SAP SuccessFactors, and some regional retailers use Teamtailor.

Applysent applies today on Workable, Oracle Recruiting Cloud, Greenhouse, Teamtailor, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee, Workday and JazzHR. BambooHR is coming soon. Applysent applies on employers' own forms, not through regional job boards, LinkedIn Easy Apply or Indeed.
