About the role

Lead the Future of Green Energy as a Process Engineering Expert!

We in Valmet’s Energy and Circularity business unit provide our global clients energy solutions including boiler and gasification plants, including their rebuilds and environmental systems. Our Rebuild and Conversion Technologies department develops, sells and delivers modernizations for power boilers. Often that is connected to changing the used fuel from fossil fuels to renewables like biomass or waste. Also tightening emission rules gives us opportunities to adapt to our technological capabilities. Coal phase out, which is ongoing globally, offers us a good foundation to develop our Rebuild business.

Join us in transforming energy systems toward a sustainable future.

As Lead Engineer for Rebuilds and Conversions, you’ll play a key role in modernizing power boilers and driving the shift from fossil fuels to renewables. Imagine working on global projects that reduce emissions and accelerate coal phase-out. This is your chance to innovate, collaborate, and make a real impact on the circular economy. Ready to lead change? Let’s build it together.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead process engineering for boiler rebuilds and conversions in delivery projects.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure technical excellence.

Support sales projects by defining technical concepts and preparing specifications.

Provide theoretical training for the customers and assist commissioning during project completion.

Drive innovation by developing new solutions and processes that meet evolving environmental standards.

This position is located in Warsaw, Poland, but also our Gliwice, Poland and Darmstad, Germany offices can be considered.

What We Expect:

You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in thermal, energy, environmental, chemical, or process engineering from a university or a university of applied sciences.

You have strong experience in boiler processes and similar industry roles.

You communicate fluently in English; Polish, Finnish, Germany and other language skills are seen as an advantage.

You are willing to travel globally for 20–40 days per year (focus countries are Poland, Germany and Czech).

You work systematically, prioritize effectively, and thrive in dynamic project environments.

To succeed in this role:

We are looking for a team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine interest in energy and process engineering. You understand the bigger picture while being equally comfortable with detailed technical work. You are well-organized, capable of planning and prioritizing your work independently, and able to deliver results in a dynamic international environment with challenging schedules.

You communicate technical recommendations clearly and concisely, ensuring customers and stakeholders understand complex concepts. Building trust and collaborating across teams comes naturally to you, and you enjoy working closely with customers to deliver solutions that meet their needs.

We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles—practical behaviours that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:
