We are currently looking for a

Senior Architect (f/m/d) Azure Platform & Integration.

We are building shared Azure deployment and integration platforms that help NKG's product teams deliver independently. We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Architect to lead their technical evolution, own the backlog and turn product-team requirements into reusable capabilities.

Your responsibilities

• Technical direction: Lead the architecture and evolution of our Azure deployment and integration platforms, contributing hands-on with the engineering team.
• Backlog ownership: Own and prioritize the platform backlog, balancing product-team needs, reliability, security and technical improvements against engineering capacity.
• Non-functional requirements: Collect requirements from Product Owners for availability, performance, scalability, security and recovery, and translate them into measurable acceptance criteria.
• Platform engineering: Build reusable Bicep modules, Azure DevOps pipelines and hosting patterns. Define security, observability and cost standards with IT Operations and Security.
• Integration standards: Define REST API and event contracts, versioning, authentication and reliable messaging patterns, including retries, dead-letter handling and idempotency.
• Engineering enablement: Help teams adopt the platforms through templates, documentation, design reviews and coaching, balancing common standards with team autonomy.

Your profile

• Azure architecture: Strong hands-on experience designing, building and operating shared Azure platforms and turning architecture into production-ready capabilities.
• Backlog and requirements: Experience prioritizing technical work and translating Product Owners' non-functional requirements into measurable acceptance criteria.
• Platform engineering: Practical experience with Bicep, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Azure hosting, Entra ID, cloud security and observability.
• Integration expertise: Strong software engineering skills and experience with REST APIs, distributed systems and resilient messaging using Azure Service Bus, Apache Kafka or comparable technologies.
• Collaboration: Clear communication, pragmatic judgement and experience aligning and coaching engineers across teams without formal authority.
• Language proficiency: Fluency in German and English.
