Make a real difference in people's lives with EML

Looking for a career where your work has real purpose and impact?

As a Dispute Resolution Officer, you'll be at the centre of resolving workers' compensation disputes, helping injured workers, employers and stakeholders achieve fair and positive outcomes. You'll take ownership of disputes from start to finish, analyse complex information, collaborate with claims and legal specialists, and represent EML at the South Australian Employment Tribunal.

This is far more than an administrative position. It's an opportunity to become a trusted problem-solver, skilled negotiator and influential communicator. You'll use your critical thinking and relationship-building skills to navigate challenging situations, identify opportunities for early resolution and drive outcomes that make a genuine difference.

If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, building strong relationships, influencing outcomes and thriving in a fast-paced environment, you'll find this role both challenging and rewarding. In return, we'll provide comprehensive training, ongoing professional development and clear pathways to build a long-term career within a supportive and collaborative team.

We're now welcoming applications for a permanent, full-time Dispute Resolution Officer to join our team in Adelaide, with flexibility to work from home up to 2 days per week once fully trained.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage workers' compensation disputes lodged with the South Australian Employment Tribunal from end to end, with a focus on achieving positive and early dispute resolution outcomes.
  • Review reconsiderations, attend tribunal proceedings and participate in stakeholder meetings to drive outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with workers, employers, legal representatives, the South Australian Employment Tribunal and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice and collaborate with claims and legal teams.
  • Maintain accurate claim records and ensure compliance with legislation and scheme requirements.
  • Stay up to date with relevant case law, legislative changes and industry developments.

What We're Looking For

It's ok if you haven't worked in workers' compensation before. What matters most is your ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and navigate complex situations. Do you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications or previous experience in legal, mediation, dispute resolution or a related field (highly regarded).
  • Experience in a customer-focused, professional services, insurance or legal environment.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence navigating challenging conversations and negotiating outcomes.
  • Resilience, initiative and a collaborative approach to work.
