Offshore Telecom Technician – Oil & Gas Sector Job Title: Telecom Technician Experience Required: 5–7 Years (Oil & Gas mandatory) Qualification: Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Telecommunications / Electronics / Electrical) Job Description We are seeking an experienced Telecom Technician with a strong background in Oil & Gas projects , both onshore and offshore. The ideal candidate must have hands-on expertise in installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of telecom and ELV systems. Offshore experience is mandatory . Key Responsibilities Perform installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecom systems, including: Structured Cabling Systems (Cat6/Cat6A/FTTH) Fiber Optic Communication Systems (splicing, OTDR testing, termination) TETRA Radio Systems VHF/UHF Radios CCTV Surveillance Systems Access Control Systems (ACS) Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per Oil & Gas standards. Support commissioning teams during project handover and SAT/FAT procedures. Ensure compliance with HSE standards during all site activities. Prepare technical reports, update work logs, and coordinate with supervisors/engineers. Provide support during shutdowns, offshore rotations, and emergency call-outs. Qualifications & Experience Diploma in Engineering (Electronics / Electrical / Telecommunications). Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Oil & Gas telecom maintenance and installation. Mandatory offshore experience with valid offshore certificates (e.g., BOSIET, HUET). Strong knowledge of network cabling standards and fiber optic systems. Hands-on skills in radio communication systems – TETRA, VHF, UHF. Experience in CCTV and Access Control installation and configuration. Preferred Certifications Fiber Optic splicing/testing certification. CCTV/ACS vendor certifications. Radio communication system training (TETRA/VHF/UHF). Safety certifications (H2S, PTW, First Aid). Soft Skills Strong troubleshooting ability. Ability to work independently and in offshore environments. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
