Purchase Officer – Trucks & Vehicles

<h2><span>Job Purpose</span></h2><p><span>The Purchase Officer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, spare parts, equipment, and components required for NAFFCO’s Trucks &amp; Vehicles Department.</span></p><p><span>The role will support vehicle manufacturing, assembly, modification, and related operations by ensuring required materials are purchased at competitive prices and delivered on time.</span></p><p><span>Candidates with experience in either <strong>Local Purchase or Foreign/International Purchase</strong> can be considered.</span></p><h2><span>Key Responsibilities</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Receive and review purchase requisitions from the Trucks &amp; Vehicles Department.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Source automotive and vehicle-related materials from local and international suppliers.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Obtain quotations and prepare price and supplier comparisons.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Prepare and process Purchase Orders in accordance with company procedures.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Purchase materials and components such as:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Truck and vehicle spare parts</span></p></li><li><p><span>Chassis-related components</span></p></li><li><p><span>Mechanical components</span></p></li><li><p><span>Electrical and electronic components</span></p></li><li><p><span>Tools, equipment, and workshop consumables etc</span></p></li></ul></li><li><p><span>Ensure purchased items meet required technical specifications, approved brands, and quality standards.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Coordinate with technical teams to clarify specifications where required.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Follow up on pending Purchase Orders and maintain updated delivery status.</span></p></li></ul><h2><span>Foreign Purchase Responsibilities</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Source vehicle parts, chassis components, equipment, and materials from overseas suppliers.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Coordinate with international vendors regarding quotations, Proforma Invoices, purchase orders, and shipment schedules.</span></p></li></ul><h2><span>Local Purchase Responsibilities</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Source automotive and engineering materials from UAE-based suppliers and distributors.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Obtain quotations for urgent vehicle production and maintenance requirements.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Identify alternative local sources for urgent or discontinued materials.</span></p></li></ul><h2><span>Requirements</span></h2><ul><li><p><span>Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience in the <strong>automotive, trucks, commercial vehicles, vehicle manufacturing, heavy equipment, spare parts, or engineering industry</strong> is highly preferred.</span></p></li><li><p><span>ERP or procurement system experience will be an advantage.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to handle multiple requirements and work within production deadlines.</span></p></li></ul>
