<h1>Estimation Engineer – Fire Alarm &amp; Life Safety Systems</h1><h2>Job Summary</h2><p>Prepares accurate estimates, quotations, BOQs, material take-offs, and technical-commercial proposals for Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting, and Voice Evacuation systems, complying with project specifications, international standards, and UAE Civil Defence requirements.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scopes.</p></li><li><p>Prepare material take-offs and BOQs for:</p><ul><li><p>Fire Alarm and Detection Systems</p></li><li><p>Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems</p></li><li><p>Voice Evacuation and Public Address Systems</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Review architectural, electrical, reflected ceiling, and MEP drawings.</p></li><li><p>Select compliant equipment and materials.</p></li><li><p>Prepare costs for equipment, materials, installation, testing, and commissioning.</p></li><li><p>Develop proposals, quotations, compliance statements, and tender clarifications.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with Sales, Design, Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams.</p></li><li><p>Identify discrepancies, exclusions, assumptions, qualifications, and variations.</p></li><li><p>Obtain supplier pricing, technical information, and product availability.</p></li><li><p>Prepare supplier comparisons and support negotiations.</p></li><li><p>Propose compliant value-engineering alternatives.</p></li><li><p>Update estimates for addenda, revised drawings, and comments.</p></li><li><p>Maintain price, supplier, estimation, and historical-cost databases.</p></li><li><p>Support handover with approved quotations, BOQs, and documentation.</p></li></ul><h2>Technical Knowledge</h2><ul><li><p>Addressable and Conventional Fire Alarm Systems</p></li><li><p>Fire Detection and Alarm Systems</p></li><li><p>Emergency and Exit Lighting Systems</p></li><li><p>Central Battery and Self-Contained Emergency Lighting Systems</p></li><li><p>Voice Evacuation and Emergency Public Address Systems</p></li><li><p>Cause-and-Effect Matrix requirements</p></li><li><p>BMS, HVAC, Access Control, Firefighting, and ELV interfaces</p></li><li><p>NFPA 72, BS 5839, IEC standards, and relevant codes</p></li><li><p>UAE Civil Defence regulations</p></li><li><p>AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications</p></li><li><p>Estimation or ERP software and Excel costing tools</p></li></ul><h2>Qualifications and Experience</h2><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.</p></li><li><p>3–7 years of estimation experience in Fire and Life Safety or ELV systems.</p></li><li><p>UAE or GCC experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of BOQs, material take-offs, costing, tender estimation, and supplier negotiation.</p></li><li><p>Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and commercial skills.</p></li><li><p>Attention to detail and ability to meet multiple tender deadlines.</p></li></ul><h2>Key Deliverables</h2><ul><li><p>Accurate BOQs and material take-offs</p></li><li><p>Competitive estimates and quotations</p></li><li><p>Technical compliance statements</p></li><li><p>Supplier quotation comparisons</p></li><li><p>Tender clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions</p></li><li><p>Value-engineering proposals</p></li><li><p>Final estimation and handover documentation</p></li></ul>
