You will be a key partner to the finance leadership, ensuring that our accounting "engine" runs with maximum efficiency.
Core Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Direct and manage a team of 5-7 accountants focused on Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Collections. Your goal is to establish high standards of performance and implement robust operational KPIs.
- Financial Reporting & GL: Take full ownership of the General Ledger (GL) for specific Swiss entities, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with Swiss standards.
- Strategic Deputization: Serve as the primary backup for the Head of Accounting, providing high-level support on technical accounting matters and operational decisions.
- Process Transformation: Continuously evaluate and improve existing accounting workflows. You will play a leading role in enhancing efficiency and preparing the team for future collaboration with international shared service centers.
- Responsibility for financial statements prepared under accounting standards as IFRS and Swiss GAAP.
- Audit Management: Primary point of contact and coordination for external statutory auditors and internal auditors.
Your Professional Profile
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting. A Swiss Federal Diploma in Finance and Accountancy (Fachausweis), CPA or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Experience: A solid professional background with a clear history of career development in permanent roles. You should have a proven track record of managing teams within a transactional finance environment.
- Technical Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of Swiss GAAP and the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR).
- Systems & Mindset: Highly proficient in modern ERP systems (experience with Workday is a significant advantage). You possess a mindset focused on continuous improvement and the automation of manual processes.
- Communication: Fluent English is essential for this international scope. Professional proficiency in German and/or French is a strong asset.
