We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Accounting, Compliance and Reporting (ACR) team. In this role, you will support local and international clients across a wide range of industries in managing their accounting, tax compliance and financial reporting obligations. Working alongside experienced consultants and managers, you will participate in the day-to-day accounting processes of our clients and contribute to delivering high-quality services and business solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Participate in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with local legislation and applicable accounting standards • Support the preparation and review of VAT returns, corporate income tax calculations, annual tax returns and other regulatory filings • Prepare management reports, statutory reports and financial analyses • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation • Collaborate with senior team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for multiple clients • Participate in communication with auditors, tax authorities and regulatory institutions when required • Work with accounting software and EY internal systems to support efficient project delivery • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting agreed deadlines and quality standards • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support the use of digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field • between 1-3 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting and tax compliance • Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes • Knowledge of Bulgarian and international accounting standards • knowledge of Bulgarian tax legislation, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax and Personal Income Tax regulations would be considered as an advantage • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and good command of the MS Office package • Experience with accounting software (Ajur or other accounting systems) would be considered as advantage • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize effectively • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Client-oriented mindset and willingness to build strong professional relationships • Fluency in English and Bulgarian What We Offer: • A supportive and collaborative work environment • Opportunities for professional growth and development • Exposure to a wide range of tax issues and industries • Competitive compensation and additional benefits package (for example: public transport card, multisport card, health care) • Participation and work on significant, interesting and large-scaled projects • Professional and personal development in dynamic and challenging working environment • Wide variety of learning courses and training programs • Regular team events and opportunity to participate in in different social and charity activities and initiatives If you are interested in this opportunity to start your career in accounting at EY, please submit your resume.
