English Language Teacher | Grade 1-12 | Open for candidates outside UAE

We are seeking to hire English Language Teachers for one of our Clients, based in Abu Dhabi. This role is open only to candidates currently outside the UAE. Applicants currently in the UAE will not be considered.

Candidates must have a sound understanding of the mechanics of the English language, with strong written

and verbal communication skills. English Secondary Teachers are responsible for the successful implementation of English Language Curriculum across grades 1-12 and are required to do the following listed below.

• Model and support a learner-centered, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.
• Ensure that students reach the expected age-related outcomes for English.
• Gain an understanding of working with Arab youth who will learn English as a second language.
• Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment.
• Support the learning process by identifying needs and guiding students to achieve their learning objective.
• Ensure assessments are delivered according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, in a valid and rigorous manner.
• Maintain an accurate record of student achievement and performance.
• Create positive and effective relationships with colleagues.
• Work extra hours to provide extra-curricular activities.
• Travel as required to events, training and provide cover away from their school.
• Be smart and always present a positive image of themselves and the English Department.
• Integrate with colleagues from different cultures.
• Perform all aspects of their role with an understanding of the wider strategy.
• Plan effectively and manage their workload.
• Gain the confidence and respect of Emirati personnel at all levels.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in relevant (English, English language and literature) or related field.
• Minimum 3-year degree
• Experience (no certification): 3+ years of full-time teaching experience in schools for expats
• Experience (with certification): 2+ years full- time teaching experience in schools if the candidate possesses one of the following:

Accepted Certification:

• Teaching License
• B.Ed;
• M.Ed;
• NTS;
• PGCE (QTS not required);
• PGDE;
• H.D.E;
• H.E.D;
• DELTA (Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training);
• CELTA (Masters level only);
• TESOL (Masters level only)
• English proficiency requirement: Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT Language proficiency test required with a score of 94-109 required. IELTS certificate with a score of 7 Academic or 7.5 General.
• IELTS and TOEFL certificates cannot be older than 3 years.
