About the role

As the company grows we have evolving requirements and needs for our mobile apps, FAIRTIQ and FTQ Lab.

Our goal is to provide the best post-price ticketing user experience and grow our user base. Providing a good user experience is a challenge that requires a lot of thought and understanding of our users.

You will work with designers and engineers to find ways of improving our apps and create a delightful user experience. FAIRTIQ has a growing user base of 1.5M+ active users every month, so you will have to think about scalability, caching, internationalisation, accessibility, phased roll-outs and resilience.

Here are some real examples of recent and future work that might help you get a better idea of what this job entails:

Implementing an Activity Feed

Implementing a Timetable using Compose Multiplatform

Integrating a new Design System, together with other mobile squads

Adding support for multiple payments service providers

Modernising our authentication methods with Social Logins

Implementing new features in Compose UI and planning migration from classic views.

Implementing screens with accessibility in mind, keeping our certification up to date

Adapting our Spring Boot backend to cater for new app needs

Reducing tech debt in our codebase by removing support for older Android versions and taking advantage of improvement opportunities this provides.

Role Responsibilities

Design and implement new features in our mobile apps, used actively by 1.5M+ users and contributing to millions of public transport journeys.

Make sure that the existing features are always up and running

Write testable, simple, clean and efficient code

Release and monitor apps, making use of automation tools to immediately publish the changes you make in the app stores

Take an active role in our processes and help improve them

Work together with other developers, graphic designers, UX and product experts to expand our solution worldwide

Take responsibilities in the team and lead technical projects
